Published travel writing

Before abitofculture, I used to get my travel-writing kicks by submitting stories to the Birmingham Mail, Coventry Telegraph and later http://www.simonseeks.com – a sadly defunct website which paid its contributors.

I’ve built up a portfolio of travel writing, below, and although I’ve yet to be snapped up by The Independent or become the next Simon Calder, I live in hope.

  1. My brother Richard Field passed away tragically on 4th may 2017. So heart broken and sadly missed. Rest in peace little bro ww

  2. Having been a regular reader of Richards travel blogs for some time I thought it a little unusual not to have received anything from him for several months and thought I may have accidentally unsubscribed from following him. So today I thought I would check out his site and subscribe again if needs be. I cannot tell you how shocked I am at hearing about his death, and at such a young age. His writings were always beautifully composed with descriptions that painted pictures in words, and like me he was a bit of a photographer, so I always looked forward to his postings. Please accept my deepest condolences, and I shall very much miss his wonderful travel blogs. With very best wishes, Terry Gregory (Kindadukish.wordpress.com)
